These are brownies with benefits, packed with nutrients and including some of our favourite foods for health including Cacao and Walnuts and no refined sugar, or oils in sight. Try these Reishi chocolate brownies for a sweet treat that’s super good for you.
Why add our super ‘shrooms to your recipes? Well Reishi powder has many benefits for health including immune support, anti-inflammatory benefits, liver support and promoting deep restful sleep. In traditional Chinese medicine Reishi is ranked number 1 out of around 300 different healing herbs, plants and fungi as having the most beneficial properties for health. It’s not called the ‘mushroom of immortality’ for nothing. Grab one of these Reishi chocolate brownies when you need to satisfy that sweet tooth.
Reishi Chocolate Brownies (Makes 6)
1 cup of Walnuts
1/2 cup of Roasted Salted Almonds
1 cup of Raw Cacao
1 cup of Medjool Dates
1 tsp of Vanilla
Sprinkle of Sea Salt
1 tablespoon of Reishi mushroom powder
2 tablespoons of tahini
Instructions:
1. Pulse the Walnuts in a food processor on high until they are finely ground.
2. Add Cacao, Salt, Vanilla, Tahini & Reishi powder. Pulse to combine.
3. Add the Dates one at a time, until you end up with a crumbly consistency that when pressed will stick together.
4. Grab a square shaped container and line with baking paper. Press the mixture into the container. Top with chopped roasted Almonds. Place into the fridge for an hour or so, or freezer to store for longer periods.
